Pakistan’s women’s netball team clinched the Plate Division title at the Asian Netball Championship 2026 in Hong Kong after defeating Thailand 55-50 in a thrilling final.
Pakistan produced a strong team performance throughout the match, displaying excellent coordination, discipline and determination to secure the championship title.
Saba Noor Anwar, Maya, Lia Raza Shah, Hina Chaudhry, Serena Naseem, Jasmine, Farah, Noor-ul-Ain and Samaya Safdar delivered impressive performances for Pakistan.
The victory also secured Pakistan’s qualification for the Cup Division of the next Asian Netball Championship, scheduled to be held in Singapore in 2028.
The triumph marks a significant achievement for Pakistan women’s netball and highlights the team’s growing presence on the Asian stage.
Pakistan’s achievement is particularly significant as the 2026 Asian Senior Netball Championship also serves as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney.
While the Plate Division victory did not itself secure a World Cup berth, promotion to the Cup Division for the 2028 Asian Championship gives Pakistan an opportunity to compete at a higher level and strengthen its prospects on the continental stage.
