Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and his fiancée Georgina Rodríguez have once again become the center of global attention after fresh wedding rumours spread across social media, with reports claiming the couple could finally tie the knot this month.
Speculation intensified after Ronaldo and Georgina were spotted wearing matching diamond rings while vacationing in Mallorca, prompting fans to believe the long-awaited wedding is imminent. Several international media outlets also claimed the ceremony could take place on August 8 in Funchal, Madeira—the Portuguese island where Ronaldo was born and raised. According to the reports, the historic Funchal Cathedral has been tipped as the wedding venue, while the luxury Savoy Palace Hotel is reportedly preparing to host the reception.
However, despite the excitement, there has been no official confirmation from Ronaldo or Georgina. Reports from other reputable outlets have dismissed claims that the couple is getting married this weekend, stating that the viral speculation is based on unverified information and that no ceremony has been publicly confirmed.
The couple first met in 2016 when Georgina was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. After nearly a decade together, they announced their engagement in August 2025. They share two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda, while Georgina also helps raise Ronaldo’s three other children. The couple has often spoken about the importance of family, especially after the tragic loss of their newborn son during childbirth in 2022.
Currently playing for Saudi Pro League champions Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has previously said he intends to marry Georgina when “the right moment” arrives. Until the couple makes an official announcement, the reported wedding date remains speculation, even as fans eagerly await what could be one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the year.
