Following Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki, Chery has also increased the prices of all its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models in Pakistan after the government’s recent increase in sales tax on hybrid vehicles.
Instead of passing on the full impact of the tax increase immediately, the company has introduced limited-time promotional prices that partially absorb the additional cost. The discounted prices will remain valid until July 31 or while stocks last, after which customers will have to pay the full revised prices.
The Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV, previously priced at Rs. 9.499 million, now carries a promotional price of Rs. 9.999 million. Once the promotional offer ends, its official retail price will rise to Rs. 10.949 million.
The Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV has increased from Rs. 11.299 million to a promotional price of Rs. 11.499 million, while its regular post-promotion price has been set at Rs. 12.999 million.
Similarly, the flagship Tiggo 9 PHEV, previously available for Rs. 13.694 million, is now being offered at a promotional price of Rs. 14.299 million. After July 31, its official price will increase to Rs. 15.749 million.
The price revision comes after the federal government increased the sales tax on hybrid electric vehicles under the new fiscal measures, prompting several automakers to revise their pricing. Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki had already announced price increases earlier, with Chery now becoming the latest manufacturer to adjust its lineup.
Although Chery has marketed the revised rates as a limited-time promotional offer, all three hybrid SUVs are now more expensive than before, reflecting the impact of higher taxation on Pakistan’s automotive market.
