The Changan Oshan X5 has once again been spotted undergoing road tests in Pakistan, reviving speculation that Master Changan Motors could be preparing to introduce the compact crossover SUV in the local market.
The latest sighting marks the second known appearance of the Oshan X5 in Pakistan after a left-hand-drive test unit was reportedly seen in the country in 2022. At the time, the vehicle was said to have been imported for road testing, research, and consumer feedback.
While Master Changan has yet to make any official announcement regarding the model’s launch, pricing, specifications, or local assembly plans, the continued testing suggests the company remains interested in evaluating the SUV for Pakistani buyers.

The Oshan X5 is one of Changan’s popular crossover offerings in international markets and is known for its sporty design, technology-focused cabin, and turbocharged performance. The model originally debuted in China with multiple variants, featuring both naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines.
Industry observers believe the 1.5-liter turbocharged Blue Whale engine is the most likely option for Pakistan. The powertrain produces around 180 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The SUV features front-wheel drive and seating for five passengers.
In terms of dimensions, the Oshan X5 measures approximately 4,490 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,710 mm. These figures place it in the highly competitive compact crossover segment.
If launched locally, the Oshan X5 could compete with popular SUVs such as the Honda HR-V, MG HS, and Kia Sportage, offering buyers another turbocharged option in Pakistan’s rapidly expanding SUV market.
