Mobile phone users across Pakistan will now have to pay more for call and internet packages after telecom operators increased tariffs with the approval of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to the revised tariff sheets issued on the PTA website, prices of various hybrid and data-only packages have been increased by 19% to 33% on an annual basis, making several popular bundles significantly more expensive.
Monthly call and data packages have become up to Rs500 more expensive, while 15-day hybrid packages now cost up to Rs300 more. Similarly, weekly hybrid bundles have seen price increases of up to Rs130.
The revised tariffs also show that three-day packages have been increased by up to Rs21, two-day packages by up to Rs20, and one-day hybrid packages by up to Rs5.
PTA has published updated tariff sheets for 15 hybrid and data-only packages, detailing the latest prices, package validity, quarterly tariff revisions, and the call, SMS, and internet benefits offered under each plan.
The increase comes as telecom operators continue to cite rising operational costs, including inflation, energy prices, network expansion, and currency depreciation, as key reasons for revising package prices. Consumers, however, are expected to feel the impact as mobile connectivity becomes more expensive across all major networks.
